Great Tit - Parus major

The Great Tit Parus major, or Mésange charbonniere in French is an extremely common little bird here, found in gardens and woodland everywhere. For a bit more information in English, go to the RSPB page, or if you read French, the very comprehensive Oiseaux.net.

Photographed by Loire Valley Nature:
Photographs are numbered from left to right and top to bottom. 1 leaving the nest with a fecal sack produced by the chicks. 2 entering the nest in a terracotta urn in our garden. 3-7 returning with caterpillars to feed the chicks.
